Today’s post is a special two-in-one!!
First of all I want to introduce my new Blog Series: The Perfect Character!!! This blog series will walk you through the dos and don’ts of creating good characters that will contribute to your plot.
Topics will include: character’s appearance, unique ‘ticks’, weaknesses, and secondary characters.
I’m super excited to write it so I hope that you’re super excited to read it! I’ll be posting them every Thursday (starting in a few days!).
And……… now I’m going to talk about Camp NaNo. So as you may have gathered from my last posts, Camp NaNo didn’t go quite as expected this month. I didn’t make my goal of 30 hours and I didn’t finish the novel I’ve been working on.
I could blame this loss on a few factors, but really the blame lies on me and my schedule. There were many times when I could have been writing but chose to watch TV or play games instead. That took a toll on my writing progress and I’m pretty bummed that I wasn’t an April Camp NaNo winner this year.
However, that doesn’t mean that I’m done with writing for good! I will continue writing in my off-time and hopefully have a first draft finished by early June.
Persistence when writing is key to producing your dream. I know it’s difficult right now, but future me will look back on this month and be like “Wow! This ended up to be so easy!”.
I actually have a quote on my white board in my room that says:
It always seems impossible until it is done.
This quote is so so so true. I hope my fellow writers remember this quote during a project so that it may help them with downed spirits like it has done for me.
Happy May 1st!
