I think we can all admit to a time in our lives when we have bitten off a bit more than we can chew (literally as well as figuratively). Some occasions we are able to rise to the occasion and meet the challenge, and other times we are not.
NaNo WriMo embodies this challenge for me, and maybe it does to you too. This month I have chosen to try and work 40 hours on my writing project. This is in the midst of school, work, and writing this blog.
I quickly realized after starting that a timed challenge is even more difficult because there isn’t a way to beat the clock and finish early, and that you have to actually put in the time.
For me, it’s about finding the time to sit in front of my laptop for the 40 hours that I seemingly pledged myself to.
For others, it could be finding the words to make it to your word count that seems impossible.
This month’s challenge can be different for everyone. Honestly though, as long as you’re working on your project I think you’re succeeding.
My challenge for all of my fellow writers this month is to open up your word document or notebook and at least write something if you’re not ready (or unable) to commit full time to your piece. For now, I’m signing off, because I have more hours to tackle!!!!
