April is almost halfway over and I don’t know whether to be excited or terrified. For those that do not know, this month I decided to bring up book five from my computer files and begin to edit/add more to the story. Right now my word count is at 35,500 and my goal is to get it to at least 40,000-50,000 words by the end of this month.
While I’m unsure that I’ll actually make my goal, I’m super excited to find out where my story takes me in the next few weeks.
Two things that NaNo offers that are a must when completing this monthly writing challenge are: NaNo Word Sprints and their Writing Resources page.
NaNo Word Sprints are just like they sound, write as fast as you can for a certain amount of time. It’s a twitter account, and they run it pretty much all day. Different prompts are given with each ‘word sprint’ which really helps get your creative juices flowing. You can find it here.
The Writing Resources page is something new this year on the Camp NaNo site, but let me tell you, it is great. If you’re unsure about anything and I mean anything while writing your story, this page has it all. There are tips on planning, your beginning, what to avoid, your ending, and so much more. Please visit this page if you’ve got a few extra minutes you won’t regret it, I promise. Find it here.
